“Where is the story, and how do I tell it?”
That is the first thing that goes on in my mind anytime I pick up a camera. I am a wedding and engagement photographer who loves capturing a couple in their natural element and just enjoying life with each other. One of the first questions I ask every one of my couples is “What words best describes your relationship?” What comes next is always my favorite. They tend to look each other bust out laughing or gaze into each other’s eyes. From there I know which direction the shoot needs to go.
Why did I start shooting engagements and weddings?
It’s actually pretty simple. I was listening to a sermon delivered by John Gray at Lakewood church and he was speaking about doing using your gift to satisfy the kingdom. What better way to use my gift than shooting one of the moments that we as humans get closest to Him?
I love that moment when I open my email and see a response from a bride telling me how much she loved the photos and how she cried looking at them. My goal is to receive emails like this on a weekly basis. That reaction is why I do what I do.
